Gem of a Fruit

Watercolor
7" X 10"
Arches HP 140lb WC paper

Done from the PADT blog challenge photo..

I love pomegranates, and so when this challenge photo came along, I could not resist painting it. Enthusiasm has helped me finish it smoothly. Hope you like it, or if you could give me any constructive critique, it will be much appreciated. Thank you.

  2. Looks wonderful to me, watercolour is such an unforgiving medium if you get it wrong there is not much chance of rectifing it, not like oils or acrylics, so I think you need more skill to paint with it. The lovely dark background makes the fruit really shine out, very well done!

  3. This is wonderful. the tiny arils and the pealed skin of the pomegranate have been rendered with lot of detail.
